Electrical Engineering Technician

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting engineering team in the research, design, development and support of electrical products. These electrical products are primarily used by material handling vehicles but also can be required for other related machinery such as aerial lift or agriculture equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES/
Qualifications:
Assists Electrical Engineering team in the design and development of new electronic products.
Perform detailed analysis of electrical and structural properties and make design recommendations.
Develops wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams and printed circuit boards for electrical products.
Arrange for the creation of prototype parts, tooling and test equipment. Build, or coordinate the building of, prototype assemblies and production test equipment.
Perform design validation and other testing as necessary.
Identifies sources for electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical components and works with suppliers to agree upon quality requirements, prices and delivery requirements of materials.
Assure that all products released to manufacturing are comprehensively documented including bill of materials, assembly instructions, test instructions, schematic diagrams and all other relevant documentation.
Assist with revisions and audits of documentation relating to existing product. Generate documentation as necessary.
Recommends changes in circuitry or construction to improve quality of electronic/electrical product.

Other Duties and
Responsibilities:
Must be familiar with use and operation of electronics lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multi-meters, function generators and power supplies.
Must be able to understand electrical theory, electrical/electronic components, electronic assembly techniques and electrical circuit theory to create schematics and or other drawings that document functions of electrical product.
Render technical opinions, collect test data and write/report results.
Some travel may be required to visit a supplier, customer, or attend trade shows.
Prepare a month end reports for management.

Requirements
Two year or four year undergraduate degree or equivalent technical certification/experience.
Two or more years experience in electronics/electrical related position.
Must have computer skills; experience in EDA CAD software is a plus.
Background in microprocessor/microcontroller theory/programming also beneficial.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
